Can a web-based, project collaboration tool be effective? Easy to use? And affordable?
Yes. Yes. And Free.
P&W has our own, self-hosted project collaboration tool called ProjeXtranet, that is available free for all of our Client’s projects. With an unusually high level of technical know-how, P&W enjoys the efficiency of a streamlined management structure and the ability to effectively exploit the latest information technology for enhanced Team communication.
P&W possesses and continually maintains a special expertise in this important and rapidly evolving area. One of our Partners, Kevin TenBrook, owned a respected architectural information technology consulting practice prior to joining P&W. In that former role, he advised major architectural firms on the implementation of computer technology and authored an architectural add-on package for a CAD system in use at thousands of A/E firms worldwide. At P&W, he has continued to pioneer the early adoption of key technologies such as the Internet, e-mail, CAD, computer-based financial management, Intranets and project websites.
Using our Project Extranet, we are able to keep the entire Team, Users and contractor informed via daily/weekly posting of issues and/or action items. This technique greatly improves the flow of information and reduces the amount of paperwork associated with the production of a large project. As a result, information is available for the project manager and other interested parties the instant it is generated for their use and comment. This is a valuable and useful aid in keeping all involved parties updated 24/7.
