The new, $26 million replacement hospital consists of 117,000 sf and 60-beds to facilitate the expansion of services, provide large private patient rooms and make all areas more attractive and comfortable.

Notable features include:

•    30 private medical surgical bedrooms;
•    8 private and 4 semi-private gero-psych patient rooms;
•    6 private critical care patient rooms;
•    Women’s Center (4 LDRP rooms, 6 post-partum rooms, C-Section);
•    2 operating rooms and 1 orthopedic operating room;
•    Expanded emergency department with 13 beds;
•    7 post anesthetic care stations;
•    12 position ambulatory care unit; and,
•    1 endoscopy suite, 1 special procedure, 1 pain management room.

Cornerstone Hospital

Cornerstone Hospital, Edinburg, Texas – The resulting design is a 27,000 sf facility that houses three operating rooms, six patient bedrooms and all other services required by the Texas Department of Health for licensure as a general hospital.  Departments within the hospital include clinical laboratory, radiology, emergency, respiratory therapy, pre and post-operative care units, business office, dietary and other support departments.

Physician’s Hospital East

This full-service hospital, developed in response to the needs of the growing population, is located on a 68-acre site that is being developed as a complete medical campus.  The three-level, 75,000 square foot facility houses an extensive Emergency Department, Imaging Department, six operating room Surgery Department, Endoscopic and Cardiac Catheterization as well as Emergency, Laboratory and Business Operations.  The $34 million, 40-bed Physicians Hospital East features the latest in technological advances, such as bilingual robots and patient room LCD screens, that allow it to cut operating costs and free more staff time for patient care.

King’s Daughters Hospital

PhiloWilke has enjoyed a 25 year relationship with King’s Daughters Hospital, performing over 20 projects, both large and small, in that time.  Most recently, PhiloWilke completed an 18,700 sf, $2.5 million Women’s Center expansion – demonstrating our expertise in complex renovations in sensitive, occupied facilities.  This expansion required extreme control over phasing, construction, noise, vibration and debris as we expanded the department over the existing, operational hospital.
